OMG! Obamacakes!

Molly of Atlanta

Molly says:

This is the cake I baked and decorated for the inauguration party we had with some families in our neighborhood.  I enjoyed the challenge of figuring out how to accomplish the job.  The unveiling and slicing of the cake was a riveting moment!

It’s amazing!  Thanks, Molly!

Brian

Brian says:

I made this cake for an Inauguration celebration at work yesterday.  It’s funny because no one wanted to cut into it.  Finally at 2pm I stabbed into it and it was gone within an hour.  It’s red velvet with cream cheese frosting.
It looks really great, thanks Brian!

I’m so excited to share my cake.  I made this for inauguration day (duh!).  After much begging I finally let my bf cut into it.

Haha, well it looks delicious!  Thanks so much Joanne.

Katie

Katie says:

Just because I was so thrilled to watch the inauguration, I had to go home and make cupcakes/cake (doesn’t everyone have that reaction?)! The KFO stands for “Knitters For Obama.”

They look great, Katie.  Thanks!

Holly (part 2)

Yay!  You guys might remember Holly from a cake of hers that I posted here. Well, I’m very happy to report that her talent has not gone unnoticed, and a reader was able to order some cakes from her because of this site!  Yay free enterprise!

How cute are they?!

Holly says:

I’ve attached a few pictures here of the most recent cakes (same cakes, different shots). The itty bitty “Yes We Did” one was just some leftover 3” squares of cake. Couldn’t help myself. Even though it was 1 am, I HAD to decorate it. A naked cake can be a sad cake. It looked so under-dressed sitting next to the others.  Enjoy the photos and have a swell Inauguration Day! Can’t wait to see what folks send you.

Thanks so much Holly!  They look great!

Dana says:

As a working mom, I relied on Dunkin donuts and my son Max’s Obama action figure to make this cake for my coworkers!

So cute!  Thanks Dana!

Sarah from Seattle

Weeeee!  Full disclosure (cause I know honesty is so important on a site like this…I am practically the NY Times), this a total bud of mine, and I think her Obama brownie is dope!

Sarah says:

My boyfriend Ronald and I made this to celebrate Inauguration Day.  This is my first attempt at baked good decorating.  The great man has inspired many firsts.

Thanks Sarah!

Meredith

Meredith says:

Proof that Obama can work miracles - I nearly burn my house down anytime I attempt to create a meal, but somehow managed to bake and frost a Yes We Cake!  (Despite the way the cake looks, I’m actually not 12.)  LOL.

Don’t sell youself short, Meredith, the cake looks great!  Thanks!
